The architecture of CPU Explorer comprised several key components. The Data Collector, responsible for retrieving SMF Type 30 records from the z/OS system, used the SMF interface to access the data. The Storage Manager handled the storage of the collected data, using a proprietary data format.
The Reporting Engine processed the stored data and generated performance reports based on user-defined criteria. Communication between components was primarily internal, with the CLI providing the user interface for interaction. The configuration interface allowed administrators to define data collection parameters, storage locations, and report formats.
The product is no longer supported. Consider migrating to a supported platform such as IBM Z Performance and Capacity Analytics.
