The architecture of TMON for IMS consists of several key components designed to provide comprehensive monitoring and management capabilities. The TMON for IMS address space is the core component, responsible for collecting performance data from the IMS environment. The data collector processes and stores this data, making it available for analysis.
The ISPF interface provides a user-friendly interface for accessing real-time and historical performance data. Communication between components is primarily over TCP/IP. Data is stored in VSAM datasets.
The product supports various authentication methods, including RACF. Compared to IBM's IMS tools, TMON for IMS offers more in-depth analysis and a user-friendly interface. The product also provides APIs for integration with other systems, allowing for automated monitoring and alerting.
Key configuration parameters are managed through ISPF panels and configuration datasets.
