Product Overview

The architecture of 3270 SUPEROPTIMIZER/IMS comprised several key components. The Interceptor, a core component, was responsible for capturing 3270 data streams. The Compressor then applied proprietary compression algorithms to reduce the data size before transmission.

The Decompressor, located at the receiving end, restored the original data. Configuration was managed through JCL and configuration files. The product did not expose any APIs.

The product's operation relied on intercepting and modifying the data streams without requiring changes to the IMS applications. The product's functionality is now provided by other terminal emulation and data compression solutions.
