SyzMONz

The architecture of SyzMONz is designed for high availability and scalability within the z/OS environment. The main components include the Monitor Engine, Alert Manager, Action Executor, and Configuration Manager. The Monitor Engine is responsible for collecting real-time data on system tasks, including CPU usage, memory consumption, and I/O activity.

The Alert Manager processes this data against predefined thresholds and rules, generating alerts when necessary. The Action Executor then triggers automated responses, such as task restarts or notifications, based on the alert conditions. The Configuration Manager provides a centralized interface for managing monitoring rules, alert settings, and automated actions.

Communication between components is facilitated through z/OS system services and internal messaging queues. The system uses configuration files stored on z/OS datasets for defining monitoring parameters and actions. The native API allows for integration with other z/OS applications.

Security is ensured through RACF and other z/OS security managers, with access control based on security profiles. The system is designed to minimize resource consumption and impact on overall system performance. The architecture supports horizontal scaling by adding more instances of the Monitor Engine to handle increased workloads.
