The architecture of ITCAM for Transactions comprises several key components: the Monitoring Server, Agents, and the Tivoli Enterprise Portal. The Monitoring Server acts as the central repository for collected data and provides the core monitoring and analysis functions. Agents are deployed on monitored systems and collect performance metrics.
The Tivoli Enterprise Portal provides a web-based interface for viewing data, configuring alerts, and managing the monitoring environment. Communication between components uses protocols like TCP/IP. The Monitoring Server uses a relational database for data storage.
Agents communicate with the Monitoring Server using a proprietary protocol. The administrative interface is primarily the Tivoli Enterprise Portal, but a command-line interface (CLI) is also available for specific tasks. User management is handled through the Tivoli Monitoring infrastructure.
Configuration parameters are stored in various configuration files, and the product supports RBAC with role-based permissions for access control. The product uses encryption for data transmission and storage. ITCAM for Transactions provides detailed logging and auditing capabilities for troubleshooting and security.
Compared to competitors, ITCAM for Transactions offers specific support for IBM MQ and integration with other IBM monitoring solutions.
