ASG-SmartTune's architecture comprised several key components. Data collectors gathered performance metrics from CICS, DB2, and IMS environments. These collectors interfaced with the respective subsystems to retrieve performance data.
The analysis engine processed the collected data, identifying performance bottlenecks and generating reports. The reporting interface presented the analyzed data in a user-friendly format. Data was typically stored in VSAM files.
Communication between components occurred through z/OS system services and internal interfaces. The tool used a command-line interface for most operations. The product is no longer supported, and users should consider alternative solutions for mainframe performance monitoring.
