OCA-EXCI

The architecture of OCA-EXCI is designed to provide a robust and efficient integration solution between CICS applications and CA IDMS databases. Communication between CICS and OCA-EXCI utilizes the CICS/EXCI interface. Data transfer occurs through the COMMAREA, which is used to pass data and commands between CICS applications and OCA-EXCI. The IDMS Interface interacts with the IDMS database using native IDMS APIs.

The Configuration Manager uses configuration files to store connection details, data mappings, and security settings. These files are typically maintained through the administrative interface. The product supports authentication methods.

The EXCI Listener listens on a specific port for incoming requests from CICS. The IDMS Interface communicates with the IDMS database using the appropriate database protocols. OCA-EXCI provides a streamlined approach to integrating CICS and IDMS, reducing development time and complexity.
