Entact ID

The Entact ID architecture is based on a distributed, modular design. The main components include ID Manager, ID Request, ID Reset, and UniPass. ID Manager serves as the central hub for user provisioning and lifecycle management, storing user data and access control information in a relational database.

ID Request handles access requests, routing them through an approval workflow. ID Reset provides self-service password reset capabilities. UniPass provides single sign-on functionality.

These components communicate using a combination of HTTP/HTTPS and message queues. The web-based administration console provides a centralized interface for managing all components. The system uses a relational database, such as PostgreSQL or Oracle, for persistent storage.

Network requirements include open ports for HTTP/HTTPS communication between components and with external systems. Compared to SailPoint IdentityIQ, Entact ID offers a more streamlined architecture, focusing on ease of deployment and management, particularly for password reset and single sign-on.
