Product Overview

The architecture of Tivoli Monitoring for Web Infrastructure comprised several key components. The monitoring agents, deployed on the z/OS system, collected performance data from WebSphere Application Server instances. These agents communicated with the Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server (TEMS) via TCP/IP.

The TEMS acted as a central repository for the collected data, processing and storing it in a relational database, such as DB2. The Tivoli Enterprise Portal (TEP) provided a graphical user interface for administrators to view performance metrics, manage alerts, and configure the monitoring environment. The TEP connected to the TEMS to retrieve data and manage the monitoring agents.

The product used a proprietary API for data collection and management. The system supported user authentication and access control through the TEP. The product is no longer supported.

Consider migrating to a supported APM solution, such as ITCAM for Application Diagnostics, for continued monitoring capabilities.
