The architecture of Recovery Plus for IMS comprised several key components. The Log Analyzer processed IMS transaction logs to identify changes and prepare for recovery. The Database Restoration Engine applied the changes to the database, restoring it to a consistent state.
The Data Set Management module handled the allocation and management of data sets required for the recovery process. These components communicated through internal z/OS system calls and data structures. The product utilized IMS log data for recovery and VSAM datasets for storing database information.
The CLI provided the primary administrative interface. Configuration parameters included database names, log data set locations, and recovery options. The product is not supported; users should migrate to the BMC Backup and Recovery Solution for IMS.
The BMC product offers similar functionality with updated features and support.
