QFTP

The QFTP architecture comprises several key components designed for secure and efficient file transfers in mainframe environments. The core components include the FTP Client, Security Module, and Logging Subsystem. The FTP Client handles the communication using the FTP protocol, supporting both active and passive modes.

The Security Module integrates with mainframe security systems such as RACF, ACF2, and Top Secret, providing authentication and access control. This module ensures that only authorized users can access and transfer files. The Logging Subsystem records all file transfer activities, including connection attempts, file transfers, and security events.

These logs are essential for auditing, troubleshooting, and compliance. Data storage is primarily handled through the mainframe's file system, with configuration data stored in flat files. Network requirements include the standard FTP ports (20 and 21) and the ports used for data transfer in passive mode.

QFTP supports TLS/SSL encryption to secure data in transit. The command-line interface (CLI) provides administrative access for configuration and management. The CLI allows for scripting and automation of file transfer operations.
