The architecture of Mainstar Volume Clone and Rename for DB2 is centered around the efficient use of hardware-based cloning technologies on z/OS. The Volume Clone Engine is responsible for managing the cloning process, which leverages features like IBM FlashCopy to create point-in-time copies of the database volumes.
