Product Overview
The architecture of Infosphere Classic Data Event Publisher (CDEP) comprised several key components. The Change Data Capture (CDC) engine monitored the specified databases (IMS, ADABAS, CA IDMS, VSAM) for changes. The event processing engine transformed and enriched the captured data.
The MQSeries publisher then sent the events to WebSphere MQ queues. Communication between components was primarily internal, with the MQSeries serving as the external interface. CDEP used the underlying database's logging mechanisms to capture changes.
Configuration was managed through configuration files that defined event sources, targets, and transformation rules. For example, a configuration file would specify the database type, the tables to monitor, the MQ queue names, and any data transformations required. The `START` and `STOP` commands controlled the publishing process.
CDEP is not supported; users should consider IBM InfoSphere Data Event Publisher or other modern alternatives.
