E-SRF

E-SRF's architecture is centered around its ability to extract, process, and present security data from RACF and CA ACF2 systems on z/OS. The main components include the Data Extraction Module, the Report Generation Engine, and the Output Formatting Module. The Data Extraction Module interacts directly with the RACF or ACF2 databases to retrieve security information.

This module uses native z/OS APIs and system calls to access the security data. The Report Generation Engine processes the extracted data based on user-defined parameters, such as report type, scope, and filtering criteria. This engine utilizes internal algorithms and logic to format the data into the desired report structure.

The Output Formatting Module is responsible for presenting the processed data in a readable format. This module supports various output formats, including text, and integration with the optional E-SCC component for graphical display. Communication between components occurs within the z/OS environment, primarily through internal system calls and data structures.

The product does not expose external APIs. Data storage relies on the underlying RACF or ACF2 databases. Network requirements are minimal, as the product operates within the z/OS environment.

Security is enforced through the RACF or ACF2 access controls, ensuring that users can only access data they are authorized to view. The optional E-SCC component communicates with the z/OS system through standard network protocols for data transfer.
