Product Overview

The Barr/Sync architecture comprises the Barr/Sync Client, installed on the Microsoft HIS server, and the Barr/Sync Server, installed on the mainframe. These components communicate using TCP/IP. The Barr/Sync Client initiates connections to the Barr/Sync Server using a predefined port.

Configuration parameters, including IP addresses, port numbers, and security settings, are stored in configuration files on both the client and server. The configuration utility allows administrators to modify these settings. The system utilizes optimized data transfer protocols to maximize throughput and minimize latency.

The administrative interface provides real-time monitoring of connection status, data transfer rates, and error logs. The product supports password-based authentication to secure connections. The data transmitted between the client and server is encrypted to ensure data confidentiality.

The system's design prioritizes high availability and fault tolerance, with mechanisms for automatic reconnection and error handling. The CLI provides commands for starting, stopping, and monitoring the service, as well as for viewing logs and configuring settings. The `STATUS` command provides real-time connection status and performance metrics.
