The Kalinda Help architecture consists of three main components: the Help Server, the Content Repository, and the Application Interface. The Help Server is the central component, responsible for managing user requests, authenticating users, and retrieving help content from the Content Repository. The Content Repository stores the help content, organized by application and context.
It uses a relational database for storage. The Application Interface provides the means for CICS and CA IDMS applications to interact with the Help Server. Communication between components is primarily over TCP/IP.
The Help Server listens on a configurable port. The system supports high availability through redundant Help Server instances and database replication. The configuration file defines the mapping between application elements and help topics.
The system uses access control lists (ACLs) to manage user permissions. The API supports both synchronous and asynchronous communication.
