IPLCheck's architecture comprises several key components: IPLCheck-Core, IPLCheck-Plus, IPLCheck-Dynamic, and IPLCheck-Subsystems. IPLCheck-Core is responsible for detecting and checking IPL parameters, including syntax validation. IPLCheck-Plus evaluates user-defined overriding configuration libraries and parameters.
IPLCheck-Dynamic evaluates LINKLIST, LPALIST, APFLIST, and SYMLIST. IPLCheck-Subsystems evaluates JES, VTAM, CICS, and TCP/IP. These components communicate through shared configuration files and the overall execution flow managed by the user through the CLI.
The CLI provides the primary interface for interacting with IPLCheck. Common commands include 'CHECK IPLPARMS', 'EVALUATE CONFIG', 'ANALYZE LINKLIST', and 'SUBSYSTEM STATUS'. The system uses configuration files to define evaluation criteria.
IPLCheck integrates with the z/OS security model, leveraging RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret for user authentication and access control. There are no external APIs. Data is stored and processed within the z/OS environment, utilizing system logs for auditing and monitoring.
The product does not have any specific network port requirements.
