Infoprint Fonts, now part of the z/OS base, previously provided a set of fonts for use with the Infoprint Server on z/OS. The architecture consisted of font libraries and configuration files. The font libraries contained the font data, and the configuration files defined how the fonts were used within the printing system.
The components communicated through the z/OS operating system and the Infoprint Server. There were no specific databases or storage mechanisms used beyond the z/OS file system. The primary interface for configuration was through JCL and print definitions.
The main configuration parameters were font names, character sets, and point sizes, specified in JCL or print definitions. Monitoring and logging were handled through the z/OS system logs. The product did not have built-in security features beyond those provided by the z/OS environment.
The product did not expose any APIs. The product's main advantage was its integration with the Infoprint Server. The product is no longer supported.
The functionality is now part of the z/OS base.
