The architecture of Guardium S-TAP for IMS consists of several key components. The S-TAP agent, running on the z/OS system, intercepts IMS database calls and captures audit data. The agent communicates with the Guardium collector, which resides on the Guardium appliance, using TCP/IP.
The collector receives the audit data and forwards it to the Guardium database for storage. The Guardium user interface provides a centralized interface for viewing audit trails, generating reports, and configuring security policies. The S-TAP agent uses configuration files to define the IMS databases and transactions to be monitored.
The communication between the S-TAP agent and the Guardium collector is secured using encryption. The Guardium appliance uses a relational database to store audit data. The system supports high availability and scalability to handle large volumes of audit data.
The solution integrates with existing security infrastructure, such as LDAP and Active Directory.
