The architecture of BMC AMI Storage FDRPAS is centered around high-speed data movement and minimal application downtime in z/OS environments. The communication between components is managed through z/OS system services and I/O operations. Data is stored on DASD (Direct Access Storage Devices) volumes. Security is integrated with z/OS, using RACF for access control and SMF for auditing.
There are no specific network ports required as the product operates within the z/OS environment. Compared to IBM DFSMSdss, FDRPAS offers faster backup and restore times, and the PAS/DSF features provide superior online migration capabilities. The product's design prioritizes performance and operational efficiency.
