Websphere QualityStage

The architecture of Websphere QualityStage comprised several key components. The QualityStage Director served as the central management console, providing a graphical user interface for designing, executing, and monitoring data quality jobs. The QualityStage Engine was the core processing component, responsible for executing the data transformation logic defined in the jobs.

The QualityStage Designer was used to create and configure data quality rules and transformations. These components communicated through a metadata-driven architecture, where data definitions, transformation rules, and job configurations were stored in a central repository. Data was typically stored in relational databases supported by the system.

Network requirements included connectivity to data sources and destinations, as well as communication between the Director, Engine, and Designer. The system used standard protocols for data access and transfer. Compared to competing products, QualityStage offered a comprehensive suite of data quality functions within a single platform, with a focus on data cleansing and standardization.

The system's modular design allowed for flexible deployment and scalability.
