The VisionPLUS architecture is centered around a CICS-based environment on z/OS. The main components include the Authorization Server, Account Management System, and Transaction Processing Engine. The Authorization Server handles authorization requests, validating transactions against account data.
The Account Management System manages account details, including balances, limits, and customer information. The Transaction Processing Engine processes transactions, updating account records and generating financial reports. These components communicate via TCP/IP, using ISO 8583 for financial messaging.
Data storage relies on VSAM for high-performance transaction processing and DB2 for more complex data management and reporting. Security is a critical aspect, with user authentication via user ID and password, and role-based access control. Encryption is used for sensitive data, both in transit and at rest.
Administrative interfaces are provided through CICS transactions and batch jobs. Monitoring and logging capabilities are extensive, providing detailed records of system events, user activities, and transaction details. The system does not support REST APIs.
Integration with external systems typically involves custom interfaces built on CICS.
