SmartAnalyzer for DMS

The architecture of SmartAnalyzer for DMS is centered around three main components: the Analyzer Engine, the Report Generator, and the Alert Manager. The Analyzer Engine is responsible for parsing and analyzing DMS logs. It reads data from z/OS datasets containing DMS log information.

The Report Generator takes the processed data from the Analyzer Engine and generates various reports. These reports provide insights into backup and migration activities, storage utilization, and potential issues. The Alert Manager monitors the analysis results and triggers notifications based on predefined rules and thresholds.

The communication between these components is facilitated through z/OS batch jobs. The Analyzer Engine processes the logs and stores the results in intermediate datasets. The Report Generator then reads these datasets to create reports.

The Alert Manager monitors these datasets and sends alerts. The product uses z/OS datasets for data storage. There are no specific port requirements.

Network communication is handled through standard z/OS protocols. The ISPF interface provides a user-friendly way to manage configurations and view reports. Access control is managed through z/OS security, such as RACF.

The product does not use encryption.
