PEngiEZT

The PEngiEZT architecture consists of three primary components: the Compiler, the Report Generator, and the Conversion Engine. The Compiler parses and validates PEngiEZT code, the Report Generator formats and outputs reports based on defined layouts, and the Conversion Engine translates CA Easytrieve code into COBOL. These components communicate through internal APIs and shared data structures.

The system utilizes z/OS datasets for data storage and configuration files for defining data sources, report formats, and conversion rules. The CLI provides access to administrative functions, including user management and system configuration. The `SELECT`, `FROM`, `WHERE`, `COMPUTE`, and `DISPLAY` commands are central to report generation.

The `SELECT` command retrieves data, `FROM` specifies the data source, `WHERE` filters data, `COMPUTE` performs calculations, and `DISPLAY` formats the output. PEngiEZT supports native APIs for integration. Authentication is handled through user IDs and passwords, and access control is managed via RBAC.

Audit logging is available to track system activity. Network requirements include access to z/OS datasets and the administrative interface. For current versions and support info, consult vendor documentation.
