Product Overview

The Optim Database Relationship Analyzer's architecture comprised two main components: a z/OS-based component and a Windows client. The z/OS component was responsible for interacting with the DB2 database, using SQL queries to extract metadata about tables, columns, and relationships. This component accessed system catalog tables to gather information about table structures, foreign keys, and other relevant metadata.

The Windows client provided a graphical user interface for visualizing the relationships discovered by the z/OS component. Communication between the z/OS component and the Windows client likely used a proprietary protocol over a network connection. The z/OS component would have required access to the DB2 database instance, and the Windows client would have needed network connectivity to the z/OS system.

The tool is no longer supported. Consider IBM Db2 Data Management Console or other third-party tools as alternatives.
