The architecture of C/PARSE comprised several key components. The core component was the parser engine, responsible for parsing XML documents according to the defined XML schema. The CICS integration components facilitated communication with CICS applications. These components communicated through native CICS interfaces. Data was processed in memory, and there was no persistent storage mechanism.
The product did not have any specific network requirements. Since C/PARSE is no longer supported, organizations should consider the IBM XML Toolkit for z/OS or enterprise integration platforms for XML parsing capabilities. These alternatives offer similar functionality and are actively maintained.
