ASTUTE

The ASTUTE architecture comprises several key components: the Disk Manager, Performance Monitor, Capacity Planner, and Reporting Engine. The Disk Manager handles disk allocation and deallocation using the `ALLOCATE` and `DEALLOCATE` commands. The Performance Monitor collects real-time metrics, accessible via the `/performance` API endpoint.

The Capacity Planner uses historical data to forecast storage needs, generating reports via the `/reports` API endpoint. Communication between components occurs over TCP/IP. The system uses VSAM for storing metadata and configuration data.

The REST API uses HTTP/HTTPS for secure data transfer. Security is enforced through RACF authentication and RBAC. The `DEFRAG` command optimizes disk performance.

The Reporting Engine generates detailed reports on disk usage and performance. Compared to competitors, ASTUTE's architecture offers a more integrated and efficient approach to disk management, with a focus on automation and proactive monitoring.
