Product Overview
The AMELIO Modernization Platform's architecture is designed to provide a robust and scalable solution for modernizing legacy applications. The core components include the Analyzer, Transformer, and Code Generator. The Analyzer module parses the existing source code, identifying dependencies and potential areas for transformation.
The Transformer module applies transformation rules based on configuration files, converting the legacy code into a modern format. The Code Generator module then produces the new source code, ready for deployment. The platform supports applications running in environments such as CICS and IMS, accessing data through IMS, DB2, VSAM, and sequential data.
Communication between components is primarily internal, with the CLI providing the primary interface for user interaction and control. Configuration files are used to define transformation rules, target environment settings, and other parameters. The platform does not have its own database; it interacts with existing databases like DB2 and VSAM.
The CLI provides commands such as `analyze`, `transform`, and `generate`. Compared to other solutions, AMELIO's automated code generation capabilities minimize manual effort and reduce the risk of errors.
