Product Overview

The ActiVisor architecture comprises three main components: the Audit Data Collector, the Report Generator, and the Configuration Manager. The Audit Data Collector monitors and captures user activity within EOS and RSD Folders. The Report Generator processes the collected data to create audit reports.

The Configuration Manager handles system settings and parameters. These components communicate through internal system calls and file-based data exchange. Data is stored in VSAM files.

The system relies on the z/OS console for administrative tasks and the z/OS security system for authentication, including RACF, ACF2, and Top Secret. The CLI is the primary interface for operations, with commands like START, STOP, REPORT, and CONFIG. The system does not expose any APIs.

Since ActiVisor is not supported, organizations should consider migrating to a supported solution such as IBM Security zSecure Audit, which offers a more modern architecture and enhanced features.
